Orange Shirt Day

Monday, 9/30

Orange Shirt Day is a day of remembrance and education that honors the Indigenous children who were taken away to attend residential schools in Canada and the United States. Please wear an orange shirt to promote the message below.

 "Every Child Matters"

The Falcon Nest!

Students earn falcon eggs for showing prosocial behaviors that are aligned with the Falcon Five. Every classroom has a falcon nest where students collect their eggs representing kind acts and when they are caught randomly show Falcon 5 behaviors.

Classroom nests are then emptied into the school's nest. When the school's nest is full, KCCS celebrates! This week, we showed our school spirit by wearing blue and white! Also, Thunder swooped down from his nest to meet students because Thunder was so impressed! He will be sure to visit second graders next!

KCCS/QS BBQ

Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, the PTO Back to School BBQ has been postponed until Friday, September 27, 2024 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. Let’s all stay positive that the forecast changes for next week, and we will be able to enjoy this much-loved event next Friday. Wishing everyone a happy rainy weekend filled with good books, movie and board game nights, and snuggles under an awesome pillow fort!

The Kenneth C. Coombs School is a PBIS school. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. This year at KCC we will be continuing to teach our youngest Mashpee Falcons that they can contribute to the strength and success of our school community by following our Falcon Five, a set of positive behavior expectations that we have for all of our students across the school day.

The Falcon Five are: Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Caring, and Be Ready
