Simple Ways to Make It Happen

✓  Set a regular reading time each day — morning, after lunch, or before bed

✓  Let your child choose books they're excited about — interest drives motivation

✓  Read aloud together, even to older children — it builds vocabulary for everyone

✓  Visit the Mashpee Public Library for free books, programs, and summer challenges

✓  Audiobooks and e-books count — the format matters less than the habit

✓  Talk about what you're reading — ask questions, share opinions, make connections

✓  Make it cozy — a reading nook, a blanket, a snack can make reading a treat

✓  Model reading yourself — when kids see adults read, they want to read too
